Green Initiatives

Aquascape Environmental received the October 2009 Going Green Award from the Georgia Chapter of the Community Associations Institute.

Our mission has motivated us to think green in our operations since long before it became trendy to do so. And, as with everything we do, we strive to go above and beyond in our green initiatives. Here's an overview:

Trash Removal

By including trash removal as part of our routine lake maintenance service, we prevent thousands of pounds of trash from moving downstream and impacting streams and rivers.

Sports Equipment Recycling

The Aquascape Environmental team loads up for our recycled sports equipment donation. Each year, we retrieve dozens of balls and other sports equipment from clients' lakes and ponds. Items that are in good condition are saved and stored for annual donation to youth programs rather than being discarded and taking up space in our landfills. In 2008 and 2009, Sports Missions was the selected recipient.

Sports Missions is part of the International Sports Federation, which reaches out to impoverished children worldwide.

Treatment Product Container Recycling

Aquascape V.P. Paul Slovisky delivers containers for chipping. We have taken the initiative to keep our treatment product containers out of landfills. Empty containers are stored until the end of the season, and then chipped by an authorized vendor for recycling. Chipped plastic containers can be used to make such things as plastic fence posts, pallets and various other industrial supplies.

Office Paper & Cardboard Recycling

We voluntarily recycle more than two tons of office paper, periodicals, and cardboard annually.

Electronic Reporting

We invoice and deliver all lake management service reports to our clients electronically, reducing paper waste for our office as well as our clients.

Fleet Operations

We maintain a rigorous vehicle maintenance program to ensure that our service vehicles operate as efficiently as possible. Whenever possible, we schedule conscientiously by grouping treatment visits geographically.
